David is best known for his roles in British soap operas, starting as Pat Hancock in Brookside. He gained further recognition as Pete Callan in Family Affairs from 1997 to 2006. After a brief stint in Emmerdale in 2013, he took on the role of Mac Nightingale in Hollyoaks from 2015 to 2019. His performances earned him three British Soap Award nominations.
In addition to his TV work, David has appeared in popular shows such as Holby City, The Bill, Doctors, and Birds of a Feather.
David is also a successful stage performer, having starred in musicals like Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (for which he received a Platinum Disc for the original cast album), The Rocky Horror Show, Tommy, Aladdin, and Grease.
He has ventured into writing and production as well, creating the award-winning sci-fi pilot Cockney & Scouse, where he played the role of Jack Daniels.
Recently, David completed filming The Miner’s Son, a British feature film set in 1984, where he plays the lead role of Will, a militant Kent miner.
